The Story

40 Years of Turning Attention Into Legacy

Dunn Pearson Jr. is one of the most accomplished and versatile creative forces in American advertising and music. Known as "The Black Beethoven," his career spans over four decades of groundbreaking work across broadcast advertising, film scoring, jingle production, and brand strategy.

His journey began with an extraordinary debut: Luther Vandross sang on his very first jingle — a testament to the caliber of talent and vision Dunn brought to the industry from day one.

In 1987, Dunn led the first African American team to launch a new product nationally for a major corporation — the Wendy's Crispy Nuggets campaign at Super Bowl XXI, featuring Kool & The Gang. This historic achievement broke barriers and set a new standard for diversity in broadcast advertising.

Beyond advertising, Dunn scored Oprah Winfrey's first film, Native Son, and went on to compose for multiple Spike Lee productions including Get On The Bus and Love & Basketball. He co-wrote the iconic New York Undercover theme for Fox TV with legendary musician James Mtume.

His musical collaborations read like a who's who of American music royalty: O'Jays, Mary J. Blige, Stevie Wonder, D'Angelo, Teddy Pendergrass, Tamia, Keith Sweat, Grover Washington Jr., and Lou Rawls. His work has graced Broadway stages and Columbia Pictures productions.

Today, through All Dunn Advertising, Dunn continues to bring that same legendary level of craft and creativity to brands, campaigns, and clients who demand the best.
